TSA did me wrong

I'm patiently waiting for pictures from my sister since the first day in Philly my camera died. I always have the worst luck with pre-planning, I swore I charged it yet it was half way done when we got to Philly. Owell. I'll somewhat start backwards. After our 6 hour flight from Philly to LA, I crossed my fingers hoping TSA did not go through my luggage, I swear it was the very last luggage coming out of the belt, from the looks of it coming out, it looked untouched and nothing in it spilled, I probably should explain what was in my luggage and why I was so worried. However I'll leave that for later, to leave a suspense, heh heh. Sadly TSA went through my luggage, and all the contents I packed were somewhat everywhere. Basically TSA did me dirty!

My theory is they were enjoying what was in my luggage instead of actually checking what was in it, since obviously by the picture, you can tell something spilled...sigh. But of course whatever spilled is much better explained in sequence with picture that will come later :)

Luckily I was smart enough to pack all my souvenir items with my carry on. This does not begin to explain the all the things I got but once I saw my family I gave them all the gifts. The gifts in the picture are for my beautiful friends that i'll be sending the postcards to and my handsome sir, who sadly I ended up getting a stupid large flyers shirt. I blame shopping at 3am drunk. Which again comes with a good story, heh. Well I ended up getting flyers tshirts for myself, my dad, and Joe, which I know all are so happy to get since the flyers were first on the east coast in hockey, but lost to the beloved winners of the Stanley Cup, Boston. Even though they lost in the Winter Classic as well these tshirts I thought were the best Philly souvenir for the sports loving men in my life. Aside from the postcards, magnets, and flyers tshirts, I ended up getting my grandma and brother Eagles gear and my mom a Philly sweater. My Mom liked the sweater so much she wore it out once I gave it to her. I thought all gifts were a success!

I wore my flyers shirt to work today. Since preschool doesn't require any fancy clothing, wearing this shirt is beyond appropriate to work. The kids loved it and the first thing they asked me was, whats your shirt? I think the bright colors always pleases the kids haha. I felt super proud to wear Philly gear since everyone thought it was Giants gear...ha naaaaaaht I would not wear Giants gear. I'm obviously starting to get attached to Philly/east coast in general.

Second day view of Philly from Marriott, Mr. Sunshine came out to say Hello. City hall was gorgeous, that's the smaller building in the center.

Despite Philly being on the small side, the skyline was actually very pretty. Our hotel being in the center of downtown made it feel like we were in the heart of Philly and made it so much easier to get around with walking and using the blue line and orange line for the 76ers game.

(Blue Line, taken with my phone)

When I got home I expressed my thoughts about moving to the eastcoast and Joe loved the idea, we have an idea when we'd all be settled and ready to make the move. This of course will be when we both have much more of a stable life. As of right now being 3 1/2 hours away from each other is not as stable as we'd like to be. So hopefully within the next couple years after I either get into or finish the Masters program we'll be able to make the move. Then again I get so attached to places that I visit that the next place I decide to visit I might just change my mind about the east coast.

Hopefully my next post will have the full details of Philly. I hope my love for the east coast won't fade and one day my tentative plan of moving will become a reality. I guess we'll see how my parents react and how I'll cope with leaving everything familiar. Till then i'll be dreaming of living in a big city where I don't need my car! :)
